Since the implementation of FASTFORM at Gruber Tool & Die we have noticed a dramatic reduction in development time. Our design team now requests FASTFORM blanks and results for all projects that have any type of drawn feature or crash form. The software allows you to design around potential problems before any machining is even started, whether it is in design or getting changes made to the part.
Gruber Tool & Die
Tella Tool & Manufacturing purchased Fast Form Advanced last month. I can't say that it has paid for itself just yet, but I'm convinced that it is an investment that will pay many dividends. The software is deceptively easy to use; 30 minutes of training will yield amazing results. I used it to quote a 30 part tooling package the first day it was installed on my computer. During formal training it becomes evident that a deep knowledge of tool & die design is essential to achieving the accurate results that will save big bucks during tool development & debugging.
Customers in the automotive industry have proven very open to supplying Cad models to expedite accurate quotes. With this software I can analyze these models for formability with just a few clicks of the mouse. Fast Form Advanced accurately predicts areas of metal wrinkling, thinning or failure up front before these projects become the nightmares that we have all experienced in the past.

In today's competitive market place for increasingly complex stamped parts, the purchase of Fast Form Advanced has truly shown benefit to our company.
Fast Form Advanced is one of the best tools we have to quickly generate flat patterns for quotation and development as well as problem areas in draw and forming applications based on shape & type of material. All it takes is one or two results, good or bad, from the analysis to realize return on investment, and that we have. In some cases, the software can pay for itself in one project.

Thank you for setting us up with the Fastform Advanced software. We've had great success with using this product. When we first purchased the product, we used it on two jobs we had going at the time. One was a drawn part that we needed to design and build a progressive die for. We ran the part through the software and it showed that we could do it in one draw. We did not believe it so we made some form stations and simulated the draw in proto type tooling. We learned from a combination of the Fastform Advanced software and the proto type tooling that we could draw the part in one draw plus the blank development from the Fastform Advanced software was very close to the blank development required to produce the part. We showed the sample to our customer and were allowed to cut two stations (one draw and one expensive cam station) out of the die. This saved us and our customer money right off the bat. The die ran great and produced good parts with minimal de-bug when we finished it. Our first experience with Fastform Advanced software was a great success!
Our next experience was for a rectangular drawn proto type part. Our customer asked us to produce these parts in proto type quantities. We could tell by looking at the part that it would crack and bulge in certain areas. We ran it through Fastform Advanced and it visually showed what we expected it to do. We e-mailed two visual Fastform Advanced reports to our customer. One showing that it won't work the way it is designed and one showing that it will work if he can make some small radius changes to the part. Our customer looked into the function of the part, made the adjustments that we recommended and we produced the proto types without any issues. The alternative would have been to no-quote the job because it couldn't be made the way it was drawn or…take the job on and learn the expensive way that the part cannot be produced the way it is currently drawn. We would have lost a lot of money this way and had a customer that was not pleased with our performance.
I am really thankful that we have this software. I believe companies and the entire industry could save tons of money if product engineers would run their parts through simulation software prior to the prototype phase. It would make all of our jobs more realistic and save the OEM's tons of money. The technology is available…people should use it.
Thanks again for introducing and selling us this software. It's paid for itself over and over and we haven't even had it a real long time.
